The project: making two cheesecakes for a party. I knew my way around
the kitchen, but this would be a first. Easy to do, right?
First surprise: The two cheesecakes turned out fine.
Second surprise: My friends loved them! "These are great!" they said.
"You should sell them."
That, essentially, is how Desserts for Flirts was born -- three years and a
few hundred cheesecakes, tarts, cakes and assorted sweet treats ago.
My first sales were to family and friends. Then co-workers, neighbors and a coffee cafe down the street from work. Word spread. More orders and catering gigs followed. And now, a Web site to help tempt your pastry-deprived taste buds.
What next? That's up to you. Try a cheesecake. Or a cake. Or a tart. Get one for yourself, for a friend, for a party, or for that special occasion. And then pass the forks -- and enjoy.
